“Not-so” Happy Spring,

It’s springtime, and our world has been turned upside down. I hope all of you and your loved ones are safe and taking precautions as a result of Covid-19.

Mono County is asking homeowners of second homes and tourists to please stay home, to avoid putting any further burden on the county as it has very limited resources. Mono County supervisors are drafting a letter at this time (April 1, 2020) to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife to postpone the opening of fishing season. I will let you know what transpires. On April 3, 2020, the Mono County Health Department sent out an amended letter that states the stay-at-home order is effective immediately and will remain in effect until May 31, 2020.

In Bridgeport, the restaurants and shops are closed. The gas station is open, and the market will take orders via the phone with curbside pickup.

The TLPOA board has decided that Friday, July 3, will be the date for the annual meeting. I have talked to the school and filled out the necessary paperwork. We do not know the future or if it will be feasible to hold the meeting. We are going through the motions of setting it up as if it will happen this year. We will be electing a new vice president and secretary.

During the winter, Bob Wilson and I met at the bridge and discussed the mini ponds on the south side and in the middle of the road. It was a mess. I have spoken with Norm, and we’re getting a game plan together to resolve this situation. I will be seeking professional advice from one of our members who is a paving contractor to not only grade this area but to grade it in a way that does not impact Lake Shore Drive, which is in need of some dire repairs itself. I thanked Norm for the work that stopped erosion by reinforcing the bridge and filling and grading some of the road. I also thanked him for the time and money it took to get the job done.

During the past year, we have installed new signs and are working on speed limit signs. We had a great chipping day turnout this year. Thank you to everyone who cleaned off their property.

As a reminder, the dues were voted on and raised to $50 at the annual meeting. If you are financially able to pay your dues, please mail your check to TLPOA, P.O. Box 623, Bridgeport, CA 93517. If you are unable to pay your dues, please do not worry about them now. We can discuss them at a later date. Click here to download TLPOA annual dues form 2020.

As information becomes available, we will forward it to you. We just have to be fluid at this point. If you have any questions or suggestions, please call or email me.

Thank you.
